Brigitte walked slowly down the stairs, leaning heavily on Hēi Māo's arm. There was a definite bonus to her familiar being able to assume a human shape; he was able to help her much more than he could as a cat. She kept her head up, watching the detective as she moved into the family room. His eyes were wide, and she could practically see steam coming out of his ears as he worked through the logistics of Jacque Parenteau being here and this closely acquainted with her.
